Fat Tuesday, Ash Wednesday what does it all mean....

To a Catholic it is the beginning of Lent, to a Mormon not much. Rain and I went to dinner tonight, there I sat with my Turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sandwich and he with his fish tacos. I asked him what he was giving up for Lent this year??????
I offered him a few suggestions 1st give up watching all sports, this was followed with no way it is March Madness, I then countered ok ALL sports except basketball, he thought for just a moment and said no there is also Nascar! Ok, so a went through all the things he could give up. Drinking, well he doesn't drink, smoking he doesn't smoke, M&M he doesn't eat M&M's(unless I get them) and it came to me like a message from above. I said give me your cell phone for Lent. Now anyone who really knows me knows I don't use my cell phone very much, I hide it from my self very well, and I can leave the house without it... Well he is still going through options. I told him he had to find something tonight before midnight, I don't think it is going to work he is snoring in the living room as we speak. We may not share the same religion and I don't feel bad eating Chicken, Steak or Pork in front of him on Fridays. But I do love him. So to all you Catholics happy Lent!!!!

If I could do this all over, I would never have moved into a community with a HOA.
Seriously I want to stab their eyeballs out and stomp them to flat pancakes. We are now under attach due to oil stains on our driveway (what little part there is). I have scrubbed and scrubbed, but this is no ordinary oil stain it looks like some one took a bottle of vegetable oil and drizzled all over the driveway. I know what car oil stains look like and these are not them. Then we are under attack due to our backyard is not put in. OK so I was told we had a year, turns out we only had
90 days from our take over day to put in a yard. My question is this house in now 4 years old, so why did the original owners have to put in a yard????yeah it makes one say hum........ We are going to a meeting and I have a few questions.
HOA's suck......rocks big hard rocks with jagged edges........

One of my least favorite questions is what kind of music do you like?
I was talking with my Dad about this last time he was here and was frustrated. I get very uptight when others tell me that show tunes are lame, that country music should be banned and any one who enjoys easy listening is weird. I love it all.
You see I grew up with the best concerts in the world happening in my very own living room. We would listen to the Pink Panther song, the troll song, the happiness song, disco duck, the hippo is going down the drain song and who could forget the Devil went down to Georgia. I have a great appreciation for most music in all forms. I can appreciated the finest Opera, the fun Musical, and of course the angry girl music while driving down the road. I do have a disclamier: The thing I can't stand is music that degrades a person, group, type of people or can only use profanity. I find is low and really not to very creative. I would love to gather these artists and ask them to try using words that don't offend or cause one to cringe.
I believe we need all types to make the day go by, I just could not get going right now in the morings with out some Sugarland, and I really love listening to Deliah at night with her love songs.
Music what a wonderful gift to have in our lives.

Primary a blessing and trial all in one....

When is the right time to walk out on your primary class and just go to the grown up Sunday School?
I had this awesome lesson on the Holy Ghost all prepared, a book mark and treats ta-boot!
Truly I was the only one who thought it was awesome and wanted to learn a thing of two today... I team teach with another teacher and she just looked at me and shrugged. I had one kid with a quart size bag of Hot Tamales in class after the 6th time of asking in my very nice church voice (keeping my angry eyes in check) to have him put them under his chair until after the lesson, I took the bag and walked out the room, took them to his mother and asked her to please take care of them.. Well I got back to class and I had six stunned kids and one team teacher just looking at me. I finished my lesson had the best class in sharing time and came home from church wondering exactly what I was to learn today. And even though I had the treats I did not give them out they truly did not deserve them..I will try again in two weeks to see if they can be reverent and respectful in primary.
In the back of my head I wonder why two men are not teaching my 8 boys and 2 girl class. Well I better pull out my next lesson it is on the Witness who see the gold plates. Pray for me....

What do you do in the summer time when all the world is green??????
Do you fish in a stream or lazily dream on a bank as the clouds go by....
Is that what you do???? So do I....

Ok, it is not summer, it is not warm, and I have not bank to lay down on and be lazy while watching the clouds go by.

It is cold, it is a rainy windy mess here. I did however get caught at a red light this morning lazily watching the clouds blow by and some one honked their horn, how rude, ok so I was sitting at the green light holding everyone up for work. My bad...

I enjoy the storm clouds, here to the south you have the soft billow type then if you turn your head west you have the dark storm clouds, if you turn your head east they are streaky, I blame the airfare pilots who rush in and our of them in their big fancy jets, I don't look north to often because that is home, but just for your information they are laying low putting snow down on Mt. Charleston, yup we have snow on them there hills.

One day all to soon the clouds will be gone and the sun will invade the valley and I will once again be dreaming of days were I can lazily gaze at the winter clouds as they roll on by.

The Up's and Down's

Yes, I have neglected the blogging world, due to the fact my insides were black and ugly inside and no matter how many times I attempted to see some good it just became covered in black and ugliness. I did start a new job on December 28, 2008 and thought finally we are going to have some normalcy to this life here. People would ask how the new job was....I could only reply that I hate every minute I am there. I do have to say I am thankful to have a job in this economy, but I don't enjoy the job, the coworkers that don't see they are in a job with no advancement, the time spent in my car driving across the valley. So I have taken steps to find a job that will make me feel better about going to work. I have applied to work for Harrahs travel agency and have accepted a job in their company in hope this will bring back me, not this black and ugly filled inside person. I start on Monday 23 February 2009 I have to admit the wage is much better and will lift a great burden from my husbands mind as well as mine.
I sound like wine wine wine here.. I daily drive through a rather impoverished part of this city. Every morning I see parents walking their children to school so they get there safe. Every night I pass the park next to the school and see groups of people standing around in small huddles and wonder what is going on. I drive by the the apartments so run down, windows covered in bars to keep out those who do not live there. I then say to my self out loud in my car I am so thankful for my home, the clean streets in my neighborhood.
Across the street from this neighborhood is the Country Club I find this very ironic with it's green grass and clean gates and grounds.
