I had the best intentions to make this blog a good solid blog, and what has happened it is very hit and miss lately. Rain and I celebrated our 3rd year in style. He arranged a dinner at Mario's joint her in Vegas. I have wanted to go there since we first walked by. I have to say it is a good thing we only celebrated once a year or we would be living in the cars. The food was wonderful, no awesome.... The company even better. It is hard to believe it has been 3years. We have come a long way since the first July in 2004, time sure fly's by when you are having fun.
Edward came and visited us in October for a fun few days and a U2 concert. Rain's cousins moved from the Philippians to Las Vegas, so a Saturday of introductions and plenty of good food at Bing's home. It is so good to meet more extended family that I have married into. I have to say my husbands family loves to have a good party and plenty of conversation and laughter. A good surprise for the family was Rain's parents came to Las Vegas to visit the cousins so we got another visit with them this year. It is hard living away from family and we both look forward to visits and time with them.
My best girlfriend Carrie came to visit. We both originally moved down to Las Vegas as room mates and last July she moved home. I miss her very much and it was so wonderful to have her here to chat with. We are Carrie and Kari, to girls who are sisters just from different families.
November came and so did the mixed up weather. My parents came down for Thanksgiving this year. It was so good to have both Mom and Dad here. I am really happy to report Dad is doing really well with his new knees. I am not sure what I was expecting, maybe a cane or walker but I will have you know neither was needed, he even climbed on a latter much to my threats. Mom was my saving grace she made dinner that was ready when I came home from work, what a blessing. I will have you know we are back to hotdogs and cold cereal for dinner. I watched my mother and all the hand work she did while here. I wish I had the patients to do what she does. The grandkids are in for some wonderful gifts this year.
December is her and our Christmas tree is up and a shout out to Aunt JoAnn, that my angles flew onto the tree in lady like fashion. (I did take one for a spin just for you) Only she and a few nieces know what I am speaking of. I still giggle each year when I bring those angles out. As I was putting up my Nutcracker collection this year on the back of the piano it caught me in thought, I now have the piano in my home that was in my parents home all my life. I have a piece of home here now. All the Nutcrackers are in place and look regal in their stance. For the first time in my life I hung up the outside Christmas lights. I am grownup enough to have my own outside lights. I really love Christmas and all the season brings.
Las Vegas is cold, you know the cold that hits your forehead and hurts. We bundle up to leave in the morning, and come home much the same. I am very grateful for the warm home we have.
I don't know if you all have gifts under your tree, but today we got our Christmas gift, that was the repair of the tear in our roof, so no more leak (knock on wood) for this home. Nothing like fixed roof to celebrate.
I send out warm wishes to family and friends across the world, have a safe and fun Christmas Season. I have to say a big thank you to Katie, for all the wonderful picture of two beautiful nieces.
